El holding inversor de Lao impulsará el crecimiento internacional de la firma
Arcano Partners, which has secured the entry of a new shareholder. As planned, the Spanish Securities and Exchange Commission (CNMV in Spanish) has approved Nortia Capital’s entry into the Spanish financial advisory and alternative asset management firm with a 15% minority share. Following the transaction and the green light from the regulator, the shareholders shall continue to hold a large majority of the shares in order to maintain and preserve the entity’s partnership model.
Furthermore, the reinforcement of the capital structure shall allow the firm, chaired and founded by Álvaro de Remedios, to boost its international growth plans over the coming years. With the deal, which has been in the pipeline since December 2021, the investment holding company owned by Manuel Lao, founder of Cirsa, expands and diversifies its investment portfolio through its investment arm, Nortia Capital, and consolidates its position in financial management and advisory services.
To date, Nortia Capital has invested in renewable energy, foodtech, hotels, infrastructure and real estate. The firm is also one of the leading investors in Merlin Properties and Sacyr and, together with the ICO Next Tech Fund, Iberdrola and Seaya, haslaunched Andrómeda, the first large technology fund accelerate the energy transition and sustainability. Previously, it also launched the Serena infrastructure vehicle.

Earlier this year, Arcano also signed a global alliance with US bank Baird to join forces in advising on mergers and acquisitions worldwide. The agreement, which replaces Arcano’s agreement with Jefferies, aims to enhance each entity’s respective M&A offerings by leveraging their combined geographic presence, client relationships and expertise in the sector.
